Understanding the science

Eye doctor examining girl with opthalmoscope. Monitoring myopia is an important part of myopia treatment.
Abilitiā„¢ 1-Day lenses are revolutionary technology specifically targeted and designed for slowing the progression of myopia in children.5The revolutionary RingBoostā„¢
technology is designed to break the interdependence between vision quality and myopia treatment power. When light hits the lens, it splits.5 A portion of this light comes to focus on the retina to correct vision, allowing your child to see clearly.5 The remainder of light comes to a focus in front of the retina, and is used to slow the progression of myopia. Abilitiā„¢
1-Day lenses can provide strong myopia treatment while maintaining visual quality.5
The unique optical properties of RingBoostā„¢ technology are directly linked to the potential to slow the progression of myopia.5 In fact, in as little as 6 months, Abilitiā„¢ 1-Day reduced axial elongation by 0.105mm on average.2,ā€”,ā€ ā€  Generally speaking, 0.18mm corresponds to approximately 0.5D of myopia.

Important Safety Information for Contact Lens Wearers:
AcuvueĀ® Abilitiā„¢ 1-Day Soft Therapeutic Lenses for Myopia Management are available by prescription only for the correction of myopia (while the lenses are worn) and may slow the progression of myopia in children (7-12 years old). An eye care professional will determine whether these contact lenses are right for you or your child. Although extremely rare, serious eye problems including vision loss and blindness can develop while wearing contact lenses. To help avoid these symptoms, follow the wear and replacement schedule provided by your eye care professional. Do not wear these contact lenses if you or your child has an eye infection, or experiences eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, redness or other eye problems. If one of these conditions occurs, remove the lens and contact your eye care professional immediately. Due to the optical design of these lenses, under certain circumstances, some patients may experience visual symptoms. These lenses will provide vision correction while worn, but the vision quality may not be as clear as with conventional soft contact lenses. Patients should exercise extra care if performing potentially hazardous, vision demanding activities. For more information on proper wear, care and safety, talk to your eye care professional and review the Patient Instruction Guide, call 1-800-896-3233, or visit www.seeyourabiliti.com/sg.
